ABOUT Ben Alleman
Los Angeles-based, New Orleans-bred keyboardist and producer Ben Alleman has become an in-demand session musician, producer, and composer recording from his personal studio and others around the country. Ben's credits include Sean McConnell, Madi Diaz, Greg Holden, The Wood Brothers, Jillian Jacqueline, Olivia Kaplan, Corey Harper, Nicole Lawrence, Tristan Bushman, Maggie Rose, Better Than Ezra, Kevin Griffin, Natalie Hemby, The McCrary Sisters, Huey Lewis, Airpark, Jen Awad, Cape Weather, Marc Broussard, Pet Fangs, and many more.
Ben’s work can be heard in Resynator (2024 SXSW Documentary Feature Audience Award Winner), Showtime's Shameless, Jalouse Magazine Billie Eilish feature, in marketing campaigns for Halston x Netflix, Visa, Airbnb, Umbro x Material Girl, Krewe Eyewear, Amiri, Billy Reid, and Gimlet Media's Heavyweight Podcast.
He started his career touring with six-time Grammy winner and Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer, Dr. John. He’s toured with Social Distortion, Grace Potter, Jenny Lewis, Elizabeth Cook, Samantha Fish, and Betty Who. He’s made music with Don Was, Karen Elson, The McCrary Sisters, Jamie Lidell, Stanton Moore, Dan Horne Band, Warren Haynes, Willie Nelson, Better Than Ezra, John Medeski, Sean’s Weird Ears, Earthlings?, Mojave Lords, and played TV appearances on Ellen, Fallon, Kimmel, Colbert, Corden, and Conan.
Ben’s first album, “A Study in Unknowing,” as an instrumentalist, composer, and improviser, was released in June of 2024 with Well Kept Secret. Inspired by places, people, and memories, the landscape of the record is deeply emotionally driven, using natural, affected, and modern sounds with contributions from Sebastian Steinberg, Anna Butterss, Dylan Day, Matt Musty, Joe Harrison, and co-produced with Parker McAnnally.
